Our Story

I first met John 15 years ago and was impressed with his deep knowledge of the share plan sector. We’re only just getting to know the rest of John’s team, and it helps us to understand better how Smartequity has become a success. We’re excited at the engagement of the Smartequity team, and it’s been a real pleasure to get to know them.”

Deven Billimoria,
CEO, Smartgroup Corporation

Smartequity is one of Australia’s most experienced employee share plan administrators.

Our senior personnel, led by founder and CEO, John Day, has decades of industry knowledge and provides unrivalled expertise to organisations’ employee retention strategies.

Over the years, the Smartequity team has contributed to the shaping of the employee remuneration landscape in Australia, consulting with the ATO on legislative changes, lecturing, and authoring a number of books, manuals and white papers on the subject.

As employee share plan administrators, this expertise is underpinned by an acute attention to detail and a level of customer service that fosters relationships built on trust and commands a loyal and longstanding clientele.

We recognise that the success of our business is inextricably linked to the success of our clients, and they enjoy peace of mind knowing that Smartequity is more like a partner in business than simply a supplier of a service.

In 2016, Smartequity strengthened its position as an industry leader, joining the highly-regarded Smartgroup, which delivers employee benefits administration and workforce optimisation, and is recognised as a leader in each field of operation.
